Test candidates taking the MTEL Chemistry Test will be presented with a multiple-choice section of 100 questions and an open-response section asking for two brief essays. Subareas addressed in the multiple- choice section of the MTEL Chemistry Test include the Nature of Science and Properties of Matter, Chemical Reactions and Solutions, Thermodynamics, Atomic Structure and Chemical Bonding, and Integration of Knowledge and Understanding.
